Music at The Minster
Music is very important to us at The Minster School. We have a wonderful school choir who enjoy performing in school, at Warminster Hospital, at The Minster Church, at Wren House and many other venues in and around Warminster.
Each week, children in Year 3 receive a recorder lesson. This provides them with the opportunity to explore pitch and rhythm and start to learn music notation.
Following this, all children in Years 4 and 5 have a weekly violin lesson. These lessons provide the children with the opportunity to build on the skills learnt in Year 3.
At the end of every summer term we have a 'Summer Sizzler' concert and all of our musicians have the chance to perform.
Children can also have guitar lessons in school and we love to celebrate the achievements of children who have lessons in many different instruments out of school.
We enjoy welcoming professional musicians to our school. On 31st October 2022 we welcomed Andy Warn who led an African Drumming workshop. Here are some photpgrpahs from the day.
