Eco-schools

The Minster School has currently gained the Silver Award for its contribution to Eco-Schools.

Our action plan shows what we are working on.

Please look out for updates to see how we are getting on.

Silver award

We are very proud to have been awarded our Silver Flag in recognition of the hard work everyone in the school community has put in to meet the targets on our action plan. We have now built 3 bug hotels, 2 hedgehog homes and 1 bat box has been put up in the school grounds. Children in Y1 to Y6 have each made a bird feeder to take home, and we have put some up in the school grounds. Our next aim is to plant wildflowers in between the playground and the wall. We have continued to collect and recycle pens and crisps.

005

Our KS1 Eco members have been busy building 3 bug hotels in the school grounds to encourage more insects. We have also put up our bat box.

Litter picking

We have set up a litter picking rota with KS2 classes to reduce litter and provide a safer habitat for all animals in our school grounds.
